MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT & PROVINCIAL COUNCILS 

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Funded Provincial Road Development Project (PROP) in Central & Sabaragamuwa Provinces - Loan No. SL-P96

VACANCY RECRUITMENT OF PROJECT STAFF 
The Government has made arrangements to implement the above Project under which Provincial Roads classed °C", "D" and "E• selected on priority basis in Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces will be rehabilitated and improved. For the implementation of the Project, the Ministry of Local Government & Provincial Councils has set up a Project Management Unit (PMU) at Ministry level headed by a National Project Director and two Project Implementation Units (PIUs) in Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces headed by Provincial Project Directors. The Ministry wishes to recruit suitably qualified person for the below mentioned post. 

Designation of Post :-Office Engineer - PIU (Sabaragamuwa Province) 
The Ministry wishes to recruit a suitably qualified person for this post in PIU (Sabaragamuwa) Office at Ratnapura. 

Educational Qualification and Experience
**An Officer of the Sri lanka Engineering Service Class 11/I or similar status 

WITH 

**Minimum of 08 years experience including experience in Foreign Funded Projects.

OR 
**Chartered membership of a recognized Professional Engineering Institution or Postgraduate qualification (Masters / Post Graduate Diploma) in the field of Engineering. 
AND 

**Minimum of 08 years of post qualification experience in Engineering including experience in the Foreign Funded Projects. 

Duties 
• Assist the National Project Director/Provincial Project Director in Project related engineering matters. 

• Checking Interim payments and final bills of Contractors and Consultant. 

• Conduct Technical Audit. 

• Monitoring of Project Implementation. 

Salary
Rs. 75,000.00 to Rs. 85,000.00 (Monthly Salary) in terms of the provisions in Management Services Circular No. 33 of the Ministry of Finance and Planning dated 05.04.2007. In addition to, Government approved allowances will be paid. 

General Conditions: 
(a) Age Limit: Below 57 years (above 57 years will not be considered). 
(b) EPF Contribution of the Employee will be 8%, EPF Contribution of the Employer will be 12% and ETF 3% of the Monthly Salary. 

(c) Terms of Employment: Appointment will be on contract basis for one year term initially with facility for extension depending on the duration of the Project and satisfactory performance. 
The Officers who are serving in public sector or state organizations should channel their applications through their respective heads of institutions.
